football fervour

Ive been delaying this entry because Im still hurt by their loss...Its such a déja vu feeling from J2's nationals against RJC....

Ok out of point...

I just thought that Spain would be one of the underdogs who's gonna make it far... Their performance so far in the other games had been sooo good and promising I guess that's what made them complacent in a way...

The first half was being played welll by them... Penalty goal by Villa was such a superb one....

THEN came the equaliser and everything changed.... Spain wanted to win yes they did but they gabra-ed and shut down...

Or rather was shut down by France... Somehow their short passes were cut off by France every single damned time... To change their strategy at the eleventh hour was I guess too late and some of their non short passes were all over the place....

France really played well and improved unfortunately and they strategised against Spain's short and precise passes which earned them goals in the previous matches....


Looking at the players comments I would say that Spain were too confident and that resulted in the complacency.... Looking at the way France played for that match they deserved the win...

But whatever it is I still feel that Spain is a good team... They're young and most of their players are World Cup first timers... They have a lot more to learn... Lets just wait for the European Championships in 2008....

As for the match between Brazil and Ghana all I can say is that Brazil had loads of luck and Ghana just had none.....
